E l q u i n o

Gerardo taught Nicole to macrame in Chile, where they fell in love.
They now live in Eugene, Oregon "It is rainy and wet, but full of mountains and wild animals."
I asked Nicole about what informs their work:
"I am inspired by the old traditions of craftsmanship that require little modern technology in their creation.
I love to look at the work of artisans from thousands of years ago, who made their artifacts from little to no manual tools.
I am inspired also by the aesthetic of the organic world, a place that I feel we must return to as a society so as not to go so far with the building of cities and developments that we
destroy the natural world."

Their pieces are stunning, be sure to check them out here.
